Non-Public Transportation Registration/Annual Update Portal Open

Note: This is a generic copy of the email that was sent to families on Monday, July 8 at 1:51pm. While the information is valid, you will need to refer to your email or contact our transportation office to obtain your actual Access ID and Access Password.

Our annual registration portal for families seeking transportation to non-public schools is now open. We apologize for the delays while we implemented a new system. Since this is a new system, please follow the instructions below carefully and do not use any old bookmarks you may have saved.

Please note that this annual update must be completed by Sunday, July 21, to guarantee transportation for the beginning of the 24-25 school year so that we may plan appropriately for all our riders.

Register for a PowerSchool Parent Account

  1. Visit https://sdst.powerschool.com/public
  2. Click/tap on the "Create Account" tab, followed by the blue "Create Account" button.
  3. Fill in your name and email information, and create a password.
  4. Under "Link Students to Account," enter the name of each child in your household who has been previously registered with our district, followed by the information below (please note if you have multiple children, you have received one email per child, which contains the Access ID and Access Password - you will need the information from each email):
    1. Student Name: 
    2. Access ID for 
    3. Access Password for 
  5. When you have entered all students registered with our district on this screen, click/tap the blue "Enter" button at the bottom.

Check Your Email

  1. Within approximately 5 minutes, you will receive an email that your PowerSchool account is pending verification.
  2. Verify your account by clicking/tapping the link in that email.

Sign In to PowerSchool & Complete Transportation Form

  1. If the link in the verification email does not automatically log you into your PowerSchool account, visit https://sdst.powerschool.com/public and sign in using the username and password you just created.
  2. Note: If you have multiple children in your account, you must do the following for each of your children who attend a private school. The blue bar at the top of the screen lists each child that is registered with our district and linked to your account. You can click/tap their names to switch between children.
  3. In the left-hand navigation menu, locate "Forms" roughly halfway down the list. Note: If you are using a mobile device, you may need to tap the small, right-facing gray arrow in the upper left just below the blue bar to expand the navigation menu.
  4. In the Forms screen, scroll down to the "Student Updates" section. For previously registered students using our old system, you do not need to complete any forms in the "Registration Forms" section. Do not use Form K, Private School Transportation Request Form, for a returning student.
  5. Under the Student Updates section, click/tap on the "Non-Public Annual Update & Request for Transportation" form.
  6. Please review and answer each of the questions on this form and adjust any contact information that you wish to add/change/delete.
  7. Click/tap the blue "Submit" button at the bottom of the screen.
  8. If you have multiple children in your household, make sure to click/tap on each additional child in the blue bar at the top of the PowerSchool screen to complete this form for each child seeking transportation.
