Dear SDST Community,

Due to the weather forecast for snow for this evening and overnight into the morning, all district schools and all district transportation will operate on a 2-hour delay tomorrow.  We are optimistic that our operations and transportation teams will be able to clear snow from buses, parking lots, and walkways in time for a delayed opening. 

However, if snow totals increase overnight, or area roadways become dangerous for our teams to safely travel to work, we may need to pivot to a virtual day of instruction.  I will call in the morning by 6:30 a.m. if we need to make an adjustment from a delay to a virtual day of instruction.  At this hour I do not anticipate this being necessary, but want to provide this information so that staff and families can be as prepared as possible.  I will NOT call if the 2-hour delay is maintained as the schedule for the day.
