Ms. Jessica Nguyen
5th Grade
Hi there! My name is Jessica Nguyen, and I began teaching at Erdenheim in 2020. I absolutely love being a teacher, and am excited each day to learn with my students! I strive to create a classroom learning community that uses mindfulness and a growth mindset to support success while promoting kindness and compassion to all.
I have known I wanted to be a teacher since the third grade, so you could say I am living my dream! I received my Bachelor of Arts from Temple University in 2008. Following graduation I began my teaching career in Vietnam, where I taught English as a Second Language. After five adventure filled years in Vietnam, I returned to Philadelphia to teach English. In 2016, I moved to China to teach third grade at an international school, where I taught learners from places like Iraq, Ethiopia, India, Italy, Korea, Canada, and China. In 2018, I returned to Philadelphia to teach third grade, and completed my Master in Education. After two years of teaching in Philadelphia, I joined the Erdenheim family to teach fourth grade. I am delighted to be part of such a terrific learning community!
I live in Philadelphia with my family. I have a son named Benny, who keeps me on my toes and makes my life a lot of fun! I like running, exercising, and doing yoga. I also really like to sing, and often sing while I teach. I enjoy the theater, and began a drama club while teaching in China. I enjoy sharing my love of the performing arts with my students.
