I am Erin Hurst, a fourth grade at Erdenheim Elementary School in the School District of Springfield Township. Prior to this position, I have taught children with autism in the district since 2015. Beyond that, I have taught in the School District of Philadelphia for five years. There, I had experience working in Emotional Support at John L. Kinsey Elementary School for one year, then Autistic Support at Prince Hall Elementary School for four years. Prior to my professional certifications, I have taught creative expression and emotional intelligence working with pre-school age children at KinderWorks child care center in Montgomeryville.

I have had the pleasure and experience of working with children with a range of skill, ability, age and demographic. I feel this has provided me with the opportunity to explore various teaching strategies that are specially designed for each student. In my years or working with children, I have always enjoyed watching students use new skills as they display their growth and understanding at any level. My early years of education took place in the North Penn School District in Lansdale PA. I had a wonderful experience with a great deal of support during my years spent here. I hope to give your children the same experience where they look forward to coming to school.

Aside from my active duty as a teacher for the school district, I am a mother of two wonderful children. My supportive husband works as a Data Scientist for a large bank in Wilmington. My daughter attends Abington Junior High in the Abington School District while my son attends Highland Elementary. We enjoy walking to Briar Bush, taking trips to the Outer Banks and visiting family around the area together. My daughter enjoys dancing, playing Minecraft, reading and doing cats. Her passion is animals. My son enjoys exploring and being curious! He also participates in swimming and karate. Both children enjoy visiting their cousins! My younger brother and parents are still living in Lansdale and we frequently visit this area to share time with one another, so it it always active and fun when we get together!
